The Tome of the Sea God, a book he's had in his hand since the age of 5."Prince Luka, please put down that book for once. I can't get your arms."Luka scoffed, setting down the book on the table beside him. "Fine.""What's your interest in those books anyway? I understand being interested in Lemuria's history, but this is a bit much don't you think?" She continued her job as she spoke, hands as delicate as a surgeon."It's not just the history but how time is described." The maid raised her eyebrow at him confused. Luka continued to elaborate. "These books are full of prophecies and stories of Lemuria in other universes. It's how we make decisions and our way of life."He grimaces at the pages held open by a mini seashell. "There's something strange about it though. In every instance, Lemuria crumbles due to the greed of humanity. Every single one but ours."The maid's eyes light up in understanding of what he was saying. "And that's a problem? Your father made a lot of sacrifices to protect our home and was fortunate enough to find a cooperative follower."It's been 300 years since the coming of age cermony for the Sea God and his follower. He took the heart of his follower like planned and the great flame's power continued to bring a bright lovely daytime for a long time.Luka's father on the other hand drastically changed since then, never did he smile or play pranks anymore. Not too long after did an arranged marriage have to happen between the Sea God and another fellow Lemurian.From the union, came Luka. A young boy with red hair and purple tips. His eyes matching the same vulnerability as his father. And while the young Sea God didn't have much of a connection with his wife, he loved his son dearly.All Luka wanted was to give him the same happy ending that all the other Sea God's got despite what happened to their home. Even if it would forfeit his own life.If he could do a little more research into the flame, maybe he could find a way to bring back the bride of the Sea God and spare Lemuria from doom at the same time.Which brings us to this day of another special ceremony. Luka is to be “crowned” as the future Guardian of Lemuria. The Sea God's job goes beyond just protecting a kingdom so someone else must step in.Outside the throne room, Luka stands in anticipation. An elderly man looks in his direction with a genuine smile on his face. “Ah, Rafayel, your son has arrived it would seem.”Rafayel's attention shot in his son's direction, making his way to him quickly.“Uh.. what happened to being ‘3 hours’ early? You promised this time.”“I'm sorry, I'm sorry.. In the back of the room stood Rafayel with an indecipherable expression. Terrified yet expecting. As if he saw this coming or have seen it somewhere before“You did it on purpose, I bet. Constantly reading those books and talking about time travel!”“No! I would never!”“Traitor to your own kind!”“What was the boy even chanting?”“He will be punished by the sea!”It happened just like how the books foretold of another alternate universe. Possession. His words were otherworldly in his delivery of a curse. It didn't sound like him. And at the finale, the flame was put out by his touch.Rafayel's warning to steer clear of the flame was truly a joke in a sense, who in their right mind would put their hands in fire. It couldn't even be extinguished.Lemurians were escaping the palace in droves of thousands. Large structures trapping, suffocating, or crushing anyone who wasted time to get out.Luka fell to his knees in the midst of a panicked crowd, completely separated from Rafayel. His body was beaten and bruised from fallen debris. Deep cuts danced down his body like vines, his blood staining the water.He can't recall what happened before all this happened or what he did. But whatever it was, he's going to pay for it. The Sea has decided against him. Just like before.“Luka!”Rafayel's voice cut through the ringing in his ears. His body fell forward, his father swiftly moving to catch him in his arms before he fell the rest of the way to the ground.His eyes widened as he scanned the injuries further. There a clock hand stood straight out from his abdomen, something unnoticed by the young Lemurian. Too numb to feel anything.“Oh god, okay, you're going to be okay!”The blood pooled in his mouth, clinging and dribbling a bit down his cheek before mixing with the rest of the sea.“I don't know-” cough. “what happened. I didn't do it.”“I know. I believe you but please stay with me. You can't leave me too!”Luka's eyes feeling heavy, started to flutter shut, unable to hold them open any longer.The Sea God's desperate voice fades into the ringing of the world around him.“Your punishment awaits you.” A new voice.
